How to Miserably Fail at Keeping a Diet [23 Sep 2009|05:04pm]

bodywit

I did it! I took the decision!

I found the perfect pair of jeans. I’ve ravaged 3 shopping centers and I found them! Ironically, my triumph is not complete! Of course they don’t have my size… What to do? Should I go for the smaller size or the larger one? What the heck! I’ll get the smaller pair! And congratulations to me! I bought a pair of jeans and a diet. But am I as committed to wearing those pants as I was to finding them?

The bitter taste of failure...

The bitter taste of failure...

One dress size, a few pounds… What’s that? I should be able to wear them in a week! Start tonight, skip dinner, jog in the mornings, diet the rest of the week. No biggy!

Good plan so far! But what actually happened?

New Kid On the Block [05 Sep 2009|01:44pm]

And here's how I start:

I love the human body! We live in an unstable world, a world of ethical battles in which only aesthetic principles have a consistency on which we can rely. Right and wrong we will always fight over, struggling to find and maintain a moral balance, but the beauty of nature’s art is beyond dispute. I believe the human body is a piece of art, the most beautiful and precious art we have...

This is what I believe in. And how I do it. www.bodywit.com

12 SUPER FOODS [19 Aug 2009|12:24pm]

josweightloss

** I thought this might help some people it sure did help me! I always try to follow it**

12 SUPER FOODS FROM DENISE AUSTIN:

BLUEBERRIES: This fruit is packed with antioxidants and unique bacteria fighting properties that help to prevent disease and even improve balance and coordination over time. I eat blueberries at any time of the day in my yogurt, cereal and even my deserts.

OATMEAL:
This super food will leave you satisfied. Giving you energy for exercise and even helping lower your cholesterol. Oatmeal has always been a breakfast staple of mine. I eat it a couple of times a week!

NUTS: Nuts help fight cancer and heat disease, reduce cholesterol, and serve as a satisfying snack. I eat a handful a day because they are a great source of protein!

GREEN TEA: This soothing brew is filled with antioxidants that help prevent various cancers and help you burn calories at an accelerated rate! I like to drink green tea in the afternoon, since it’s naturally lower in caffeine.

SPINACH/KALE: Spinach and other leafy greens like kale are packed with calcium, cancer-fighting beat-carotene, and vitamin C. I'm a big believer in spinach because it's so easy to sneak into any meal! I especially like spinach salad and spinach omelets.

BEANS: beans reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. They're also low in fat, curb your appetite, and contain iron, fiber, and protein which give you energy. I usually add beans to my salsa and I love snacking on hummus!

STRAWBERRIES: Strawberries are great source of fiber and are packed with vitamin C and potassium, which helps regulate electrolytes in your body.

CARROTS: carrots are filled with vitamin A and antioxidants, helping to prevent cardiovascular disease and protect vision. They are a great addition to my soups, salads and even spaghetti sauce.

FISH:
This power protein is swimming with omega-3 fatty acids, which help prevent heart disease and may also provide relief for menstrual cramps, migraine headaches and rheumatoid arthritis. I make sure to eat fish twice a week!

FLAXSEED: When flaxseed is broken down, it unleashes health benefits such as the prevention of heart disease, and keeps your eyes, your brain, and your reproductive system healthy. I enjoy sprinkled on my oatmeal and yogurt.

TOMATOES: Tomatoes contain vitamin K, which helps to keep your bones strong, and lycopene, which has antioxidant and cancer-fighting properties. I like tomatoes because you can integrate them into any meal of the day!

POTATOES: Potatoes are a good source of vitamin C, and they contain even more potassium than bananas. They're also high in fiber and protein and only have 110 calories. Keep it healthy by choosing low-calorie toppings. We love eating baked potatoes with salsa a couple times a week.

I hope you all can benefit from these 12 super foods as well as I have <3 Jo

Hello! I am fresh to this community and I am excited to explore more. I am Stephanie, 19, and living in the Seattle area. I was on Weight Watchers for about 5 months and successfully lost around 30 pounds. Due to some cash issues I had to get off the program recently. BUT, I am going to do this on my own. I know I can do it and I have full confidence in myself. I lost 30, why stop now?! But, I do love talking to people and getting and giving encouragement so I will continue to update you guys and leave comments on your posts. Here are my stats:

Starting Weight: 166 pounds
Current Weight: 140 (It flucuates a good 5 pounds sometimes, but never over 140)
Goal Weight: 130 (and hopefully beyond at some point!)

Vitamin supplements [07 Jul 2006|01:54am]

mamau
Yesterday I started really restricting my calorie-intake (max of 900 cals/day) and I'm wondering if the multi-vitamin supplement and calcium supplement I'm taking is enough to ensure that I'm getting all my vitamins and minerals. I'm taking 1 Centrum forte and 1 Caltrate Plus.

And no, I don't have an eating disorder (trust me, my own doctor told me to lose weight :-) but for some reason the thought of food is kinda gross lately and watching people absolutely disgusts me (especially fat people. I know, how hypocritical since I'm borderline medically obese) and I just lose my appetite. So I'll continue eating healthy foods, drinking litres of water (it's all I drink as I don't like anything else) and will enjoy this for as long as it lasts but I don't want any negative effects because I'm suffering from vitamin deficiency or anything.

In terms of exercise, I need some encouragement as all I'm doing is 1.5 hour walk daily. I just have to get back into the gym - aaack! I just hate exercising :[

Sharing my success with any Aussies out there [04 Sep 2005|08:37am]

mousquetaires
Hi my name’s Marianne, and I wanted to share with everyone my story so far...

I weighed 106kgs and had problems with my metabolism. I wasn’t sure anything could work for me. With a wonky metabolism I had to eat half as much and exercise twice as much! But I stumbled across an amazing all natural herbal based program.

When the first kg’s came off I started to get really excited, I'm now down to 98kg, and all steam ahead till I reach my goal weight. Before starting the program I was always tired and I hated the way I looked.

Losing weight has transformed my attitude. I’m bursting with energy and my confidence has sky-rocketed. The best part is I’m fitting into clothes that have sat in my wardrobe for years. Take a look at: http://gr8healthrus.com for more info.

Hi! I'm new here. I just wanna lose some weight

I used to never have to worry about my weight.. until.. i gained like about 10 pounds or so (to 125) throughout last year. I think mostly due to overeating because i was depressed that my boyfriend broke up with me. So now i've decided I just want to get my weight back down to normal and get rid of the excess fat that i have.

. Age: 18
. Height: 5'2"
. Current Weight: 123
. Highest weight: 127
. Lowest weight: 110
. Short term goal: to lose 5 pounds by Prom (in may sometime)
. Long term goal: to lose my fat. be down to about 115 at least.. or 110 at the lowest
. Your current diet plan:
I dont drink any soda or anything. only really water and sometimes tea. I'm eating a lot more fruits, veggies and whole grains. I dont want to starve myself. i dont think i can do it. I just want to lose weight and still keep my body healthy. I joined a gym in january so i'm exercising more

anyways, if any of you guys wanna talk or add me as a friend feel free. I'm more than happy to exchange diet tips or anything and help keep eachother motivated. Thanks! good luck. bye!

Hey everyone. I just joined so, figure, might as well introduce myself. :)

. Age: Sixteen
. Height: 5'2"
. Current Weight: Around 140 pounds
. Highest weight: Around 163 pounds
. Lowest weight: 135 pounds
. Short term goal: 130 pounds
. Long term goal: 115 pounds
. Your current diet plan: I'm cutting out all: fast/junk food, pop, fried foods, packaged food, sweets, red meat. I want to try to drink only water.

I've counted calories before but found is extremely obsessive and unhealthy, in a way.
I want to be healthy. I want to eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I'd like to drink when I'm thirsty and stop when I'm satisfied. I don't want to force myself to do/eat/drink anything I am not in the mood for, while still making wise choices about food. I will still try to exercise regularly, etc. :)

hey-just joined. i'm not looking to lose a whole lot of weight either, i just want to get rid of this post-running blubber and tone up and work out more/(at all!).

. Height: 5'5''
. Current Weight: 132
. Highest weight: 133
. Lowest weight: 125
. Short term goal: 121
. Long term goal: 115
. Your current diet plan: i'm starting out on the south beach diet after v-day. i've just joined a gym, so i'm pumped to get into shape and eat healthy. i had no idea the SB diet was about no refined sugars-i thought it was another bs fad diet. but it's like what my initial diet plan was with rules i can follow! so i'm gonna give that a try + work out 5/6 times a week (gym and riding horses) and get into shape!!

1st post:) [12 Feb 2005|03:29pm]

______t
I just started this journal as a way to keep track of my fitness and weightloss goals and progress. I would LOVE having a bunch of friends with similar journals to help keep each other motivated and all that, so if you're interested let me know and add me:)

stats:
age: 19
height: 5'3
current weight:121 lbs
goal weight: 115 lbs
lowest weight: 111 lbs
highest weight: 124 lbs

I don't want to lose a huge amount of weight, but I want to look a lot better - like more muscle tone and definition, especially in my stomach and (inner) thighs. And it'd be cool to have toned arms too, lol

So if any of you have journals like this one or similar stats/goals, please add me so we can help support each other:)
